Home Care and Hospice organization hosts annual financial conference

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice will hold its Financial Management Conference and Exposition in Washington, D.C. on July 28 to 30. The event will address opportunities and challenges ahead for the home care and hospice industry and is run by the NAHC and the Home Care & Hospice Financial Managers Association.

Progress, success stories on tap for national conference call on dementia care in nursing homes

Providers and other stakeholders are invited to a national conference call on improving dementia care by lessening the use of antipsychotic medications in nursing homes. The call begins at 12:30 p.m. Eastern on July 10 and is sponsored by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The regulatory agency has created a “national partnership” that promotes person-centered, comprehensive, interdisciplinary care.

Directors of nursing rolling the dice with annual meeting

The National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care is gathering members for five days of education, networking and socializing at Caeser’s Palace in Las Vegas. The meeting starts Saturday and includes an opening General Session on Sunday and exhibit hours Monday and Tuesday mornings. With a theme of “In it to win it!” the conference will offer up to 30 hours of continuing education credit. A full array of clinical, regulatory and management topics will be covered.

National assisted living provider conference kicks off Tuesday

The National Center for Assisted Living opens its annual spring conference Tuesday at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL. An “intense, in-depth learning experience” that will focus on “the customer experience,” according to organizers, the two-day conference promises to teach processes that will “improve your reputation, and increase revenues.”

The National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry is holding its 22nd annual national conference Wednesday through Friday in Chicago. “Providing Value in an Evolving Landscape” brings top speakers, educational offerings and opportunities to consummate transactions to key players in the profession. Featured speakers will include highly respected political economist Robert J. Shiller and former Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Tom Scully.

Care transitions, re-admissions to be examined during 23rd Institute for Healthcare Improvement quality forum

Long-term care officials will have a stake in the 23rd annual National Forum of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement from Sunday through Wednesday in Orlando, FL. Nearly 6,000 healthcare professionals from more than 40 countries are expected to take part. Sessions will focus on providing more effective patient care while lowering costs. Resident- and family-centered care, transitions and hospital re-admissions will be among the conference’s focal points. Top speakers will include Michael J. Fox, the acclaimed actor and Parkinson’s research advocate, and Eric Greitens, a Navy Seal officer and the CEO of The Mission Continues, a nonprofit organization focusing on wounded and disabled veterans. Maureen Bisognano, the president and chief executive of the host group also will present.
