As I spoke, I gave insights from Florence Nightingale and the changing face of healthcare. Another batch of statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor paints a sunny picture for people pursuing jobs in healthcare. Healthcare and social assistance are the fastest growing sectors, and will account for one-quarter of the new jobs created by 2020, according to the Labor Department’s Employment Outlook.

LTC industry offers strong job growth in metropolitan areas

To strengthen providers’ argument that the GOP’s proposed Medicare changes would endanger employees’ livelihoods, the Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care has released a report showing the industry’s strength as a job creator.
