Nurses working together in hospital

A twice-postponed SNF/LTC Open Door Forum is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. ET Tuesday. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services administers the hour-long open conference calls for all interested stakeholders.

Expected to take center stage are elements of Thursday’s proposed FY 2025 Medicare Part A pay rule for nursing homes. It is not clear whether a previously proposed minimum staffing rule will be addressed or placed off-limits, as has been the case at recent Open Door Forum calls.

Listed on the agenda (which is subject to change) are comments on these previously made-public items:

  • SNF Value Based Purchasing Reports Update
  • SNF QRP Training Updates
  • MDS Updates
  • Release of new guidance for Enhanced Barrier Precautions in Nursing Homes to Prevent Spread of Multidrug-resistant Organisms

Medicare’s Todd Smith will make opening remarks, and the call will be moderated by Jill Darling of CMS’s Office of Communications.

As is customary, a Q&A segment will follow formal comments by CMS officials and various leaders.

Listeners are advised to register in advance of the webinar and call in 15 minutes before the call starts.

The Zoom call meeting ID is: 160 823 4591. The pass code is 200020.
