National conference call Tuesday on IMPACT Act

Post-acute care providers should be interested in taking part in a federal conference call “Understanding the IMPACT Act — Measure Alignment and IMPACT Outcomes” starting at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday. The hour-long event is a special Open Door Forum call run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Special SNF/LTC Open Door Forum on Wednesday

Officials at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have announced that a Special Open Door Forum that was originally scheduled for April 17 will now take place from 1-2:30 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday (May 7). The purpose of the conference call is to provide updated data collection and reporting requirements about the long-term care hospital quality reporting program, as well as time frames and submission deadlines for the fiscal 2016 and 2017 payment update designations.

Open Door Forum on ‘two-midnight’ hospital stay policy Tuesday

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is holding a special Open Door Forum conference call at 1 p.m. (Eastern Time) Tuesday to discuss the “two-midnight” hospital inpatient policy. Callers also can ask questions about physician order, physician certification and medical review criteria. They were previously released in August in the fiscal 2014 Inpatient Prospective Payment System/Long-Term Care Hospital final rule.

Federal regulators postpone highly anticipated ‘Jimmo’ conference call until Thursday

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will now hold an eagerly awaited SNF Open Door Forum conference call that will focus on accommodations from the Jimmo case and other hot topics next Thursday. Officials abruptly announced a one-week postponement yesterday. Regulators said they will be making a “Medicare” announcement, and also will address MDS training, and the National Partnership to Improve Dementia Care in Nursing Homes during the call.
