LeadingAge’s Center for Aging Services Technologies released its 2014 version of a tool to let long-term providers choose the best electronic health record for their facility.

New this year are EHRs designed for attending LTPAC physicians, and the introduction of KLAS research ratings, as the group recently started evaluating LTPAC EHRs. After reading the white paper, providers are encouraged to answer questions through the selection matrix. There also are four case studies available.

“An EHR is not an insignificant investment, especially for long-term and post acute care providers, especially for nonprofits or those operating on thin operating margins,” said Majd Alwan, Ph.D., LeadingAge senior vice president for technology and executive director of CAST. “We launched this portfolio to help providers make the right decision, and not to get lost in a sales pitch.”

The matrix and online tool have 225 functionalities comparing 32 products.
