National HealthCare Corp is buying six nursing homes from landlord National Health Investors for $21 million, the company announced.
NHC and NHI also reached a master lease deal through the end of 2026 for 38 skilled healthcare centers and three independent living centers. Combined with the purchase of the six nursing homes, NHC’s lease payment will decrease by $2.95 million starting in 2014, the company said.
NHI also sold a 148-bed facility in New Jersey to its current tenant, Sunrise Senior Living, for $23 million in December.
