Providers are kicking into a higher, cutting-edge gear to get their positions known in advance of President Obama’s State of the Union address on Tuesday. The American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living have launched an informational campaign across social media outlets, called the State of Long Term and Post-Acute Care.

Over five days preceding the President’s speech, AHCA/NCAL will distribute information about the state of post-acute care; the state of the long-term care workforce; the state of assisted living; the state of reimbursement; and the state of long-term and post-acute care. The lobbying organization’s goal is to emphasize the importance of retaining long-term care services and planning for the future.

“4.4 million of those watching the President Obama’s State of the Union address next week will require long term care and services at some point in their lives,” Gov. Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL, said. “It is critical that the funding sources, quality programs and workforce initiatives currently in place continue as these Americans age.”
