The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing has named Joshua Shua-Haim, M.D., program director for its new memory care unit. The 150-bed skilled nursing facility in Freehold, NJ, provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

The Jewish Home features a cultural setting, including a synagogue on premises and special Jewish programming. The skilled nursing facility also offers certified Glatt Kosher cuisine.

Board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, Shua-Haim also serves as medical director at Willow Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Brick, another Marquis Health Services facility.

He is a professor of medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and is affiliated with RWJBarnabas Health Community Medical Centers in Toms River and Manchester, NJ. In addition, Shua-Haim is the medical chief and president of Mid Atlantic Geriatric Associates – Ocean, P.A. in Manchester. His academic positions include Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society. In addition, he serves as director – Fourth Year Geriatric Medicine Elective for RWJ-MS.

Under Shua-Haim’s direction, The Jewish Home’s new memory care unit provides 24-hour skilled nursing services, comprehensive innovative treatments and structured daily activities designed to meet the needs of those with memory impairment.
