Employees at one Buffalo nursing home will share a sizable bonus received as recognition for its high-quality care.

The Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced Thursday that workers at its Schoellkopf Health Center stand to earn a share of an $85,000 performance award from the state. Those dollars came by way of New York’s Nursing Home Quality Initiative, the Buffalo News reported.

Bonuses will be paid out based on tenure, with the newest employees earning $100, all the way up to $4,000 for a full-time employee with more than 40 years of service.

Schoellkopf has excelled in quality in recent years, tallying a 5-star rating from Medicare and a 4-star rating from the state health department.
