The public is invited to celebrate top women leaders in long-term care, senior living and home care at the 2024 McKnight’s Women of Distinction banquet and forum May 14. Reservations to the celebration can be made at the event website.

Earlier this week, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, in coordination with sister brands McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care, announced the winning classes of Rising Stars, Veteran VIPs and Hall of Honor winners. The program’s Spirit Award winners will be announced Wednesday, with the Lifetime Achievement Award winner to be named at a later date.

All events will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel in downtown Chicago. The afternoon forum will take place from 1-4:30 p.m. and comprise two panel discussions delving into career development and strategy issues. The cocktail hour and banquet will follow from 6-9 p.m.

All interested long-term care stakeholders — male and female — are welcome to attend all events, along with friends and family members. The gala will include presentation of the awards, a photo booth, networking opportunities and more.

Some 61 top women professionals will be recognized in the Women of Distinction program, the broadest and most esteemed recognition program of its kind. Winners were determined by a national, independent panel of judges.

Fifteen Rising Stars awards were announced Tuesday, recognizing women who are either aged fewer than 40 years or have fewer than 15 years of experience in the senior living, skilled nursing or home care fields.

Additionally, 16 Veteran VIPs were announced Wednesday,  honoring women who have more than 15 years of experience and have made an impact on the senior living, skilled nursing or home care fields, typically at a level lower than vice president or its equivalent.

On top of that, 24 Hall of Honor category honorees were named Thursday, for women at a level equivalent to vice president or higher and who have had a significant effect on their organization or industry.
