Providers are being offered a variety of free resources, including an educational webinar, to observe World Wide Pressure Injury Prevention Day on Nov. 18.

The observance, which began in 2013, is promoted by the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel and has risen in prominence each year.

The webinar will begin at 2 p.m. ET and will be led by featured speaker Patricia Turner, a certified wound care specialist for more than 20 years, NPIAP advisory council member and a director of clinical services for Medline Industries.

The webinar will

• Review the NPIAP’s evidence-based causative factors of pressure injuries

• Identify the NPIAP organizational recommendations for implementation of a Pressure Injury prevention program

• Identify obstacles to implementing a successful pressure injury prevention program

• Discuss strategies to achieve the recommended goals for implementing a successful program

The objective of World Wide Pressure Injury Prevention Day is to increase awareness about pressure injury prevention and to educate the public on this topic, organizers say.

NPIAP has developed an extensive media materials package, appropriate for all healthcare settings and organizations. It and more information, including items for sale, can be found at this site.
