The seventh McKnight’s Senior Living Online Expo will kick off Thursday, June 15, with a session that will help skilled nursing and assisted living providers ace their on-site surveys.

Industry professionals will be able to earn one free continuing education credit for attending “Knowledge is power: Citation trends and preparing for your on-site survey,” at 11 a.m. ET.

Expo session attendees will learn:

  • Key areas surveyors focus on in skilled nursing, memory care and assisted living.
  • Top citations issued by surveyors, why they matter and how they affect their business.
  • Steps they can take to minimize the risk of being cited.
  • How to prepare for surveyors and work with them while they’re on site.

Speaking will be Janet K. Feldkamp, RN, BSN, LNHA, CHC, JD, a partner in the Benesch Healthcare+ Practice Group at Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP, and Robert Moore, RN, RAC-CT, DNS-CT, director of strategy and portfolio management at MatrixCare.

The webinar is one of four that will be part of the McKnight’s Senior Living Online Expo. Each will offer CE credit.

The three other hour-long educational sessions are at:

  • 12:30 p.m. ET: “Using a career ladder to recruit and retain long-term employees”
  • 2 p.m. ET: “Elevating senior living quality through trusted partnerships”
  • 3:30 p.m. ET: “Technology implementation strategy: Best practices for senior living communities”

The virtual doors of the Expo open at 10:30 a.m. ET, when participants will have the chance to network with peers and visit the online exhibition hall featuring products and services from companies serving long-term care.

Webinar attendees also will be able to visit the online booths before and after the CE sessions.
