As the calendar flips toward Thanksgiving week, the entire McKnight’s staff would like to wish all of our readers a restive, healthy, happy holiday. Although the business of caregiving is 24/7/365, there must always be times to pause, reflect and regenerate. Now is one of those times.
While federal regulators recently have given new, tougher marching orders, it is still time to remember the progress that has been made since this period last year. In November 2020, the nation’s nursing facilities in particular were heading into their most dangerous stretch due to COVID-19, and vaccines had yet to be rolled out.
How times have changed. And mostly for the better on the pandemic front. That is something major to be thankful for. There are surely others, if only we think about them. Happy Thanksgiving!
