With palliative and spiritual care coming more into public dialogue, HealthCare Chaplaincy Network is hosting its second annual “Caring for the Human Spirit Conference.” The event takes place Monday through Wednesday at a Disney property in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

Leading experts and researchers in palliative care, spiritual care and oncology will address best practices and the latest research in spiritual care, including its integration into clinical practice and the palliative care setting, organizers said. It also has been associated with better patient satisfaction and lower hospital readmission rates, they added.

Presenting the keynote address will be Christine M. Puchalski, M.D., founder and director of the George Washington Institute for Spirituality and Health in Washington.
