Two nurses’ unions have agreed not to feud over each other’s rank-and-file members during recruiting campaigns.
The unions are the United American Nurses represents about 104,000 registered nurses and is the organizing arm of the American Nurses Association. The Service Employees International Union represents about 84,000 registered nurses.
Last July, when the SEIU broke away from the AFL-CIO, labor leaders were concerned about increased infighting, possibly weakening the unions’ effectiveness.
