UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plan users can now access Warby Parker eyewear, the company announced.

More than the two million people enrolled can choose the glasses at a Warby Parker store, or online.

It is the first time Warby Parker is accepting Medicare. The out-of-pocket costs can be less than $50 for the MA beneficiaries, the company said.

UnitedHealthcare became the first insurance plan accepted by Warby Parker in 2017.

Employers and plan participants enrolled in both UnitedHealthcare medical and vision plans also can select, for 2019, a “workplace safety” package that provides coverage for a pair of prescription safety glasses.

“We know baby boomers are looking for a more convenient and personalized health care experience, and we believe they will find Warby Parker’s innovative model both appealing and affordable as they shop for eyewear,” said John Ryan, general manager, UnitedHealthcare Vision.
