SCA has announced that the television series “No Ordinary Women” will feature female athletes as they experience the Volvo Ocean race.

The four-episode series follows the world-class female athletes. The first episode aired Monday, with subsequent episodes running on NBC Universal Sports at 8 p.m. EST on Nov. 24, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. Two reruns each will air during the week following each episode.

The series“provides another opportunity to get to know the women and learn what it takes to be on the Team SCA squad,” the company said.

From the start of the Team SCA process, the “No Ordinary Women” TV-crew captured and recorded the story of how the female squad was selected and trained. Viewers will see behind-the scenes-footage of the challenging physical and mental preparations in the lead-up to the 39,000 nautical mile round-the-world race.

Team SCA has 14 women from Great Britain, USA, Switzerland, Australia and The Netherlands.
