Fully 50% of healthcare senior executives see meaningful use requirements as their primary IT focus, according to a survey released at the annual HIMSS convention in Florida. This marks an 8% increase over 2010. Nearly a quarter of the respondents (24%) indicated that the primary IT focus at their organizations was to make electronic health records fully operational. When asked to identify the current status of the EHR environment at their organization, slightly more than one-third (34%) indicated they have begun to install this technology in at least one facility.
