New toilet lifter debuts

Pressalit Care has released a new adjustable wall-mounting bracket system that allows toilets to be height-adjusted.

The brackets let users change a toilet’s elevation by up to approximately 15 inches. This allows disabled or wheelchair-bound residents to have the toilet and wheelchair at the same level, making transfer safer.

Height adjustability also can help post-surgical patients, or those with spinal cord injuries, the company noted. The adjustments can be made through a manual hand crank or a handheld remote.

The toilet’s height can also be adjusted while the user is seated on the toilet.
