MDI Achieve/MatrixCare announced it will incorporate clinical practice guidelines and the “Know-It-All” series from the leading medical directors association into its Clinical Coach™ and Clinical Guardian™ clinical decision support products. The company’s partner will be AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.

The company said it has the first EHR for post-acute and long-term care with embedded clinical decision support features using AMDA’s evidence-based and expert-endorsed resources, including long-term care best practices. AMDA’s Know-It-All system is designed to maximize the quality of care and avoid unnecessary emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

“Running ‘parallel systems’ with overlapping clinical workflows is not a viable solution, as it introduces the potential for errors in data entry, decreases staff efficiency, and adds unnecessary costs,” said John Damgaard, MatrixCare president and CEO. “Clinical decision support embedded in the EHR will be critical for long-term care providers to leverage clinical resources to provide quality care for the growing population of seniors. We are honored to partner with AMDA.”
