Pocket Nurse®  will acquire Eriter Creations Inc., manufacturers of SimLeggings™, SimSleeves™, and SimObesity™ products for simulation.

Manufacturing, finishing and distribution are moving from Alberta, Canada, to the Pocket Nurse corporate complex in Monaca, PA, the company said. Pocket Nurse has distributed the products for the past three years.

Pocket Nurse is a nurse-owned-and-operated company providing medical education and solutions. The sim accessory products are geared toward nurses, physical or occupational therapists, or emergency responders. SimLeggings and SimSleeves simulate pitting edema, and SimObesity accessories simulate obesity. The leggings, sleeves and full torso shirts fit on manikins or standardized patients, the company said.

“This is an exciting development for our organization. Not only is simulation in nursing and healthcare education vital, but teaching students about the realities of treating bariatric patients, and the sensitivity and specialty care necessary, will be important,” said Anthony Battaglia, MS, BSN, RN, owner and president of Pocket Nurse.
