LG Electronics has announced the Lifeband Touch, an activity tracker that is compatible with heart rate monitors and smartphones. It also introduced Heart Rate Earphones, which allow users to measure their heart rate while exercising.
The Lifeband Touch is a watch that can be linked to Heart Rate earphones. Both devices can transmit data to iOS or Android smartphones into an LG Fitness app, or app such as MapMyFitness.
The Heart Rate earphones have PerformTek sensor technology, which can measure blood flow signals from the ear to capture biometric data such as heart rate and oxygen consumption, the company said.
The products were unveiled at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. They will be available in the U.S. in the first half of 2014.
