Lakewood in Richmond, VA, will break ground on a $64 million expansion on Thursday.

The project comprises a new four-story Lakeview Clubhouse and two additional buildings of Woodside Hybrid Homes. The upper floors will have 44 apartment homes with underground parking, while a fitness center includes state-of-the-art equipment.

An auditorium will have entertainment and learning programs, and the facility will offer a full service spa and heated indoor pool

Twenty Woodside Hybrid Homes will be split between two new buildings.

“We’re proud of the reputation our community has in Richmond and throughout Greater Henrico County,” said Barrett Way, Lakewood’s Executive Director. “We have a number of staff who’ve dedicated 20, 25 years here and, in fact, we even have someone who’s a third-generation resident.”

THW Design is the architect and WM Jordan is general contractor for the project. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2019 or early 2020.
