VITAS Healthcare said it will accept hospice-appropriate patients in Lake and Sumter counties in Florida starting Jan. 2. The new Lake-Sumter location will be led by Jillian Madsen, RN, general manager for VITAS Healthcare in the counties.
“We are ready to expand access to hospice and palliative care services for the Lake-Sumter community, so patients and caregivers have the physical, emotional, social and spiritual support they need at the end-of-life,” Madsen said.
The first Vitas office to serve Lake and Sumter counties is in Eustis. A second office will open in Sumter County in 2019.
