Traliant said this month it has created HIPAA training for healthcare organizations and their business associates via an online course.

The training is available in two versions: HIPAA for Covered Entities and HIPAA for Business Associates.

HIPAA for Covered Entities is meant for nursing homes and other providers, while HIPAA for Business Associates is designed for those who come in contact with protected health information. That includes business associates of medical device companies, accountants, lawyers, consultants, data processors and others.

Topics are presented in a news show format, with small episodes, interactive quizzes and “viewer mailbag” segments around common questions on HIPAA rules. It is available on laptops, tablets and smartphones.

“As more health information is shared electronically, cybersecurity risks and HIPAA data breaches are increasing, costing organizations millions each year,” said Mike Pallatta, Traliant CEO and Co-Founder. “Our new HIPAA training helps ensure that organizations and their business associates know how to recognize protected health information and take the appropriate steps to prevent HIPAA violations.”

Traliant is backed by Martinson Ventures.
