HealthDirect Pharmacy Services acquired the long-term care pharmacy operations of Northeast Pharmacy Services, its sixth pharmacy in the state of Pennsylvania.
Since late 2017, HealthDirect has focused on growth in Pennsylvania, which is home to 29 of the nation’s largest nonprofit senior living providers.
Northeast Pharmacy Services specializes in serving assisted living communities, a highly competitive market segment in the area of the state around Allentown.
The Lehighton pharmacy location is the easternmost HealthDirect pharmacy in Pennsylvania, which will allow it to support the densely populated central region and make way for expansion into new markets.
HealthDirect will absorb 26 long-term care professionals from Northeast, bringing its employee total to more than 1,000. The company now has 25 pharmacies in eight states.
