H Contract, a supplier of upholstered seating and case goods for the senior living market, has debuted its first products in the tablet and power source seating category. Integrated swivel tablet arms provide convenient work surfaces for laptops, tablets, books and beverages, while USB capabilities provide charging conveniences that are incorporated into the design of the chairs.

Developed for senior living common areas including lounges, cafés, bistros and media rooms, the chairs were designed to float in a room, eliminating the need for additional side tables.

“The convenient functionality of the work surface and charging capabilities provide residents with a great solution for many activities, as more and more seniors are not only utilizing technology to pass the time, but also reading more books, drawing, doing puzzles, word searches and more,” said Dean Jarrett, vice president and general manager of H Contract. “While the tablet and power source seating category is not necessarily new to the industry, the addition of this important functionality to our product line provides our customers with the convenience of specifying both upholstery and case good products from one source.”

H Contract’s product line includes an assortment of contract-grade case goods and accent pieces and a wide assortment of made-to-order upholstery pieces specified for a variety of senior living spaces.

Each of the two new frame styles is available in five configurations: with right- or left-side tablet arm positions, with or without USB charging capabilities, and as stand-alone lounge chairs. In addition, they were designed with the appropriate dimensions and functional details that are associated with H Contract’s industry-leading contract upholstered seating products, which include commercial-grade seat cushions and removable seat decks with cleanout areas to manage spills. In addition, a moisture barrier between the fabric cover and cushioning materials helps to prevent moisture penetration on the seat cushion.

H Contract began shipping the new chairs in mid-April.
