Residents who used the Dakim BrainFitness brain training program for up to six months built up their cognitive strength, according to a new study.

Published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry in July, the study from UCLA was conducted to assess the cognitive effects of computer-based brain training. The average age of the study participants was 82.

Participants were evaluated over a period of two to six months. Those who completed at least 40 sessions of 20 minutes showed improved immediate memory, delayed memory and language skills, company officials said.
