Senior care software provider PointClickCare Technologies has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by offering additional data collection tools and more robust analytics.

First, PointClickCare announced a new infection prevention and control solution designed to provide ongoing, centralized resident surveillance at the facility and enterprise level.

Clinical teams now have access to actionable insights, enabling them to better monitor outbreaks and analyze infection data.

The new solution acts as a repository of infection cases; replaces manual efforts by attaching information already documented in PointClickCare; captures resident condition using industry accepted standards to correlate the symptoms consistently; and allows infection preventionists to develop evidence-based recommendations based on infection analysis.

And last month, PointClickCare acquired Co-Pilot, an analytics solution developed by Consonus Healthcare. Co-Pilot’s capabilities include rehospitalization insights, market share analysis and enhanced quality measures. PointClickCare said such pay-for-performance information can bolster payer relationships and improve operational performance. The capabilities will be added to PointClickCare’s Performance Insights and Harmony Insights portfolios.

“With the senior care market at war with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is strikingly clear that providers’ ability to access and leverage critical insights into their operations is more important than ever,” said PointClickCare CEO Mike Wessinger. “This acquisition represents both an exciting and timely step forward on our vision to empower our customers with the rich, actionable insights needed to provide better care for our seniors.”
