An Arkansas nursing home ignored sexual harassment complaints for two years and fired whistleblowers, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claims in a new lawsuit.

Female employees at Happy Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Malvern, AR, said that between May 2016 to May 2018, if they complained about the harassment they were terminated, according to the EEOC. Happy Valley allowed the employee’s harassment to go unchecked, the lawsuit alleges.

The EEOC filed its suit last week in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas after unsuccessfully attempt to settle with Happy Village out of court. It’s seeking back pay, lost benefits, other damages and an injunction against future harassment.

An employee who answered the phone at Happy Village on Monday declined to comment on the lawsuit.
