Marcy McNeal has shown through her pursuit of higher learning that she is a dedicated individual and passionate about her work as an administrator.

Marcy McNeal

McNeal earned her master’s degree in administration at Bellevue University in 2020 while working full-time as an administrator and as a mother, taking on multiple responsibilities at the same time, to grow in her field.

During COVID-19, at her current position as administrator at Sunrise Hill Care Center, she moved into the facility to better support the staff members and residents and as a result was unable to see her spouse or children for three months. The extreme measure paid off: The center avoided cases of the virus entirely.

Passionate about pursuing hands-on knowledge in the senior care field, McNeal is pursuing her registered nursing degree and is completing her pre-nursing curriculum.

In her community, McNeal is a member of the board of directors for Traer Development Corp., an organization that supports the socioeconomic development of the Traer community.

She also speaks at her local library about various long-term care topics, such as navigating Medicaid and how to stay at home longer.

Well-known in her rural community, outside of the care center, she often is seen visiting older members of her neighborhood or those who need extra assistance in their homes.

The McKnight’s Women of Distinction program is jointly administered by McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and McKnight’s Senior Living. The program’s Diamond sponsor is PointClickCare, and the Roundtable Sponsor is Paycor.
