Think back to when you were 10 years old. You still had a big future ahead of you, but you had already seen a lot, you were on a roll and, wow, were you full of energy!

That’s exactly what I’m feeling about our upcoming McKnight’s Online Expo. The dates are set for March 29-30.

And, yes, this is the 10th edition of our groundbreaking virtual trade show. It costs nothing for participants, who have the option of collecting up to six free continuing education (CE) credits.

That’s something to get excited about, especially when you consider the honor roll of speakers this year. Thousands of long-term care professionals have attended sessions, and a record crowd is expected again.

Remember: You cash in on this simply by using your computer or Internet-enabled device.

Payment is power so we kick things off with the inimitable Leah Klusch, RN, BSN, FACHCA, at 10 a.m. (Eastern) on Tuesday March 29. “MDS 3.0 Update: Get ready for more changes” is the title of her session.

Next comes Joyce M. Black, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, the past president of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel and one of the foremost experts on wound care in the world. Whether you’re a clinician or just someone who wants to make sure the best resident care takes place, “Deep tissue injuries — recognition, strategies and risk,” is not to be missed.

The first day ends with a fascinating technology track presentation from David Finkelstein, the chief information officer at RiverSpring Health in New York. “Technology trends and best practices” will review best practices for EMR and EHR adoption, discuss advances in patient monitoring and examine HIPAA requirements.

“Engaging staff in reducing readmissions to improve quality” will start Day 2 with featured presenter Elaine Healy, M.D., the vice president of medical affairs at United Hebrew of New Rochelle.

A regulatory-focused session follows: “The changing compliance and enforcement landscape.” Attorney Paula G. Sanders, chair of the Health Care Practice Group at Post & Schell PC, brings an engaging style to legal and regulatory updates.

The closing session, Beth Burnham Mace’s “The state of capital availability,” like all others, will be geared toward long-term care professionals at all levels.

McKnight’s Online Expo — it’s back and better than ever.
