McKnight’s Long-Term Care News staff members and contributors have been honored with nearly a dozen journalism citations in the 2020 Azbee Awards of Excellence program. Included are Gold, Silver and Bronze honors at the national level.
MLTCN also earned a Gold, two Silvers and five Bronze Awards in the group’s Upper Midwest regional competition.
Staff Writer Danielle Brown was a multiple-award winner, as were Senior Editor Liza Berger, Art Director Mark Speakman and Executive Editor James M. Berklan.
“This is great validation of the outstanding effort put in by our staff — day in and day out,” said Editorial Director John O’Connor, himself a multiple-award winner. “McKnight’s has been a pillar of the long-term care community for four decades. We are immensely proud that not only readers but also experts in our field continue to give us top marks.”
The honors were bestowed for news coverage (in print and online), analysis, team coverage and commentary.
A full breakdown of the awards appears at the bottom of this article. More than 1,000 entries were received in the competition, which is sponsored by the American Society for Business Publication Editors and administered by the Poynter Institute.
ASBPE’s Azbee Awards of Excellence program is one of the most competitive there is for business-to-business, trade, association, and professional publications. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines, newsletters, and digital media — ebsites, e-newsletters, digital magazines, and blogs.
