Registration for the 2018 McKnight’s Fall Online expo has been brisk, with the free event set to kick off in just one week. Recent news events illustrate how valuable the sessions can be for providers.

The online annual learning event returns Wednesday, Sept. 26, with sessions on three hot topics in the long-term care field.

Experts from Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network will start things off at 11 a.m. Eastern Time with the first session, “Cyber threats and compliance challenges: Managing technology risk in aging services.” Speakers from the continuing care retirement community will explore some of the most common tech threats, and offer best practices and interventions for users and IT professionals.

The topic is of ongoing concern to skilled care providers, as just last week, Ohio Living announced that it had discovered that an unauthorized third-party had gained access to its employee email accounts, possibly putting thousands of individuals’ personal information at risk.

Two more sessions will follow at 1 p.m. ET, on developing partnerships with your local university to improve staffing, and at 3 p.m. ET, exploring changes that are coming to MDS 3.0.Providers have an opportunity to earn one free CE credit for each session. There will also be a virtual exhibit hall, which allows attendees to connect with vendors and see the top products and services in the long-term care market — all with a few mouse clicks. The expo will take place anywhere an internet connection can be found. Click here to register for the event and to find out more about the speakers, sessions and sponsors.
