MISSOURI — Laboratory Gamma Healthcare Inc., which provided lab and radiology services to nearly 900 long-term care facilities in the state, closed.

The company, which shuttered in November after it was unable to resolve differences over COVID-19 testing procedures with federal regulators, also served facilities in Kansas and nine other states. In October the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services pulled the lab certifications for Gamma’s main labs. While Gamma said it took various steps to correct the deficiencies, CMS would not restore the certifications.

Nikki Strong, executive director of the Missouri Health Care Association, said members were scrambling to find other clinical labs to do diagnostic testing as well as phlebotomy services.
