Kindred Healthcare announced it will not be renewing another lease agreement with Ventas for six nursing and rehabilitation centers and two long-term care facilities.
While Kindred is a major Ventas tenant, it also announced in February that in 2013 it was terminating seven lease bundles containing 64 facilities.
Additionally, Kindred asked in April for state and local tax breaks of nearly $68,000 in order to create 100 jobs in downtown Louisville. Kindred said the jobs reflect its expansion plans due to its RehabCare acquisition.
