The Joint Commission has appointed Dale S. Johnson executive director for its long-term care accreditation program.

Johnson is replacing Marianna Grachek, who left the position in July to become the president and CEO of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Johnson is responsible for the promotion of Joint Commission accreditation as an effective and valuable approach to improving the quality and safety of long-term care services. More than 1,300 long-term care providers are accredited by the Joint Commission.

Johnson most recently worked in Ocala, FL, as CEO and chief financial officer for a Kindred Healthcare Inc. facility.
