At least 25 nursing homes in Oklahoma lost power this week due to an ice storm.

The Oklahoma Health Department said it has been unable to make contact with some facilities because they lost telephone connections, the Tulsa World newspaper reported early Wednesday. No deaths or injuries were reported.

The storm affected an area from Oklahoma City through Tulsa and northeastern Oklahoma. Some residents were transferred to area hospitals and medical facilities. While facilities are required to have an emergency plan in the event they lose power, they are not required to have a generator, according to Dorya Huser, of the state Health Department.
