With data as a critical focus of her job, Samantha Broussard, RN, needs a system that can handle the volume, speed and constant flow of information to the point of care. “With the rapid healthcare changes, we need to have access to our data so we can present it to the organizations that may request it,” she says.
Because Broussard and her team submit daily MDS assessments daily for coding accuracy, she relies on the PointRight system to identify areas of coding inaccuracy with the MDS department so she can focus her training from the scores.
“We also review the ‘radar report’ to help decrease readmissions,” by identifying residents at high risk for falls, ADL decline and skin changes, she says.
