Elder Abuse Advisory Board notice
The Department of Health and Human Services has begun accepting nominations for the newly created Advisory Board on Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation.
The 27-member board was created through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act with the goal of “improving and enhancing Federal, State, and local elder justice programs, research, training, and coordination,” according to an HHS notice published July 14 in the Federal Register. The board will be broken up into three groups, with nine members serving three-year terms, nine serving two-year terms and nine serving one-year terms. The Administration on Aging will conduct oversight of the board.
Nominations will be accepted through Aug. 15, and should be submitted to Edwin Walker, deputy assistant secretary for Program Operations, Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging, Washington, DC, 20201. See the attached Federal Register notice about the board.
