Harborside Healthcare acquires nine facilities

Harborside Healthcare Corp. plans to acquire nine long-term care facilities in Kentucky from SeniorCare LLC, it said last week.

Details of the transaction between Harborside, a Boston-based skilled nursing company and SeniorCare, a Louisville, KY-based operator have not been disclosed. Both are privately held companies. SeniorCare facilities comprise 1,108 licensed beds, and the transaction will be completed in June 2005.
 
“We are very excited about the SeniorCare transaction because these are high quality facilities with solid reputations,” said Damian Dell’Anno, president and chief operating officer of Harborside Healthcare.

“We expect to maintain a strong presence in the Louisville area and look forward to maintaining and enhancing the quality of care provided by these facilities and continuing the legacy of care provided to the residents they serve,” he said.
