Dennis Bozzi

Dennis Bozzi, the former long-time president and CEO of Life Services Network of Illinois, has allegedly admitted to misappropriating $670,000 and will repay it to the nursing home group, its new leader announced to members in a Sept. 13 e-mail.

The day before, the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, where Bozzi had been president and CEO for 11 months, fired him after an emergency conference call involving the board of directors.

The prospect of criminal charges “certainly is within the realm of possibility,” LSNI President Christopher E. Laxton told McKnight’s.
Bozzi is accused of continually misusing cash advances and a corporate credit card for at least 10 years, Laxton said.

Federal investigators were continuing their months-long investigation but had lifted a six-month quiet period in mid-September, he added.

The U.S. Attorney’s office had not indicted Bozzi as of press time, with a spokesman noting that he could neither confirm nor deny the existence of any investigation until charges would be filed and become public record.

A call to Bozzi’s Chicago-area residence seeking comment was not returned.
