The former operators of a Florida nursing home where two patients died were charged with patient neglect Wednesday, prosecutors said in a 16-page report.
The report said Colonnade Medical Center ran low on food, failed to give patients medications, did not follow doctors’ orders, kept filthy conditions and bounced employees’ paychecks.
Sandra Rothstein Frank, 49, of Coral Springs, the former dietitian at Colonnade Medical Center, and Sharon Brown, 33, of Lake Worth, the former nursing director, where charged with 10 counts of patient neglect.
Nurse Regine Roy, 27, of Miramar, was also arrested and charged with one count of patient neglect. Former owner Gary Lampert, 53 of Miami Beach, was charged but remains at large.
Patient neglect carries up to five years jail time and $10,000 in fines.
The 120-bed home has been cited by state Agency for Health Care Administration for dozens of violations every year since at least 1996.
