» SavaSeniorCare in early November disclosed plans to sell 48 of its skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in a bid to boost employee pay and benefits and invest more in doctors, technology and equipment. The transfers are expected to be completed by the end of 2021. CEO Jerry Roles said the moves are necessary to prepare the firm for the “post-pandemic world” and allow it to “continue our focus on our people, the residents who we are privileged to serve and our dedicated staff.” 

» The Ensign Group acquired the Medical Lodge of Amarillo, an 82-bed skilled nursing facility in Amarillo, TX, in early November, the company announced. The transaction brings Ensign’s total portfolio to 227 healthcare operations across 13 states. The deal was finalized Nov. 1. 

» Walker & Dunlop structured more than $38 million in financing for four skilled nursing facilities in Illinois, the lending firm said in late October. The facilities have a combined 496 beds and are all located within 50 miles of Chicago. Walker & Dunlap also arranged the sale of two skilled nursing facilities in Montana, the firm disclosed in mid-November.
