Hal Daub Jr. was set to officially take over as the new top executive of the nation’s largest nursing home association today. Daub was scheduled to replace the outgoing Charles H. “Chip” Roadman at a board meeting of the American Health Care Association.
Daub is a partner with the international law firm Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP and also has a strong background in public policy. He was announced as Roadman’s successor on May 18. Roadman announced his decision not to pursue a second contract extension earlier this year. He’s been the AHCA’s top man for nearly five years.
Daub served as mayor of Omaha, NE, from 1995 to 2001, as well as four terms with the U.S. House of Representatives. While carrying out his new duties with AHCA/National Center for Assisted Living, Daub will continue his four-year term as Chairman of the Social Security Advisory Board, an appointment bestowed upon him by President George W. Bush in 2002.
