Electronic medical records provider Casamba has added national benchmarks to its analytics platform, allowing customers to compare their performance to that of other skilled nursing peers in more than 60 categories.

The benchmarks are based on performance information from thousands of operators in areas such as length of stay, therapy minutes, outcomes, labor costs, mode of therapy and productivity.

“With [the Patient Driven Payment Model], providers across the skilled nursing spectrum are looking for meaningful data to help them understand how they’re performing in this new environment,” said CEO Billie Nutter. “With our national benchmarks, Casamba is helping its customers understand where they are positioned relative to the market so they can make operational and clinical changes to maximize their business.”

Users can compare performance among comparably sized customers, against larger or smaller providers, or segmented by specific time periods or payer groups. Information is updated daily.

“Real-time data means everything for practice owners when understanding business performance,” Nutter said. “Users have the timeliest information when making critical choices about the future direction of their practice.”

Casamba offers a range of solutions, including for clinical tasks, billing and scheduling for providers, contract therapy, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health and hospice.

The company is expected to launch a partnership with Accelerated Care Plus, a provider of specialized rehabilitation technologies, in October. By reducing data-entry requirements, ACP’s Interconnected Care Solutions platform should improve efficiency for skilled customers as they navigate documentation and billing. The cloud-based system connects patient information, ACP rehabilitation technology and the electronic medical records system.
