Recent National Labor Relations Board rulings could hit senior living employers hard, said a concerned Assisted Living Federation of America spokesman recently at the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry.
“We’ve been seeing a lot of pro-union, anti-business rulings coming out of the [NLRB],” Jamison Gosselin, the ALFA Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communication, told McKnight’s Editorial Director John O’Connor. “And it’s unfortunate because there’s still a lot of questions about what those rulings are ultimately going to do to senior living. We’re hoping to find some ways that we can reduce the impact of [these rulings].”
In September, ALFA slammed two decisions of the NLRB that will make it easier to unionize.
