TEXAS — Just 12 nursing homes had met Texas’ criteria for resuming visitation at their facilities since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as of press time.

The state order, issued in mid-August, requires no active cases for at least 14 consecutive days, no active cases among residents and for staff to be tested weekly in order to resume visitation.

If a provider did have a previous case, a surveyor must confirm everyone as fully recovered, that there’s adequate staffing in the facility and that it is in compliance with all rules related to COVID-19.
