It’s no secret that nursing home operators frequently have a beef with media reports.

As a journalist, I’ll let you in on a secret: Often, complaints are well-warranted. Other times? Not so much.

The biggest problem is when the narrative is driven by someone or something other than the provider, which is what usually happens in mainstream media. And for not being the driver, the provider is often driven over. Only after a case is made “against” them do providers typically get asked for input.

Not here. Not now.

You, dear provider-reader, are going to drive this one. That’s right: You get to write the story yourself, in a manner of speaking.

I’m urging all eligible McKnight’s readers to go here and answer some questions in our McKnight’s Outlook 2022 Survey. Results will be gathered anonymously and reveal skilled nursing’s big story(ies) to watch for in 2022. We’ll also disclose the current rate of some practices.

Owners, administrators, top execs, nursing managers, assistants and other leaders … we’d like to hear from you. You can give no wrong answers in this one. It’s just not possible.

By letting us know your thoughts via some easy mouseclicks, you will not only get to “tell it like it is,” you might pick up an easy $100 for the effort. That’s right: We’re here to help pay off some Christmas (or other) bills. We’ll hold a drawing to give four  — 4 —  respondents a $100 gift card.

It’s a win-win because at a minimum, there will be no opportunity to complain about sources in these stories. They’ll be you and your peers. And you’ll learn about the biggest concerns, hopes, fears and trends for the year ahead. Are yours the same as others’? Are they the same as what outsiders think?

Let’s find out.

The value will go far beyond the $100 you might win.

So click here to provide the “true scoop.” You’ll be doing yourself and your colleagues a favor. I thank you in advance.

Here’s to ultimately making 2022 better than 2021. You can do it.
