» Researchers at the University of Manitoba in Canada are developing a prototype home equipped with technology such as Doppler radar, smart floor mats and motion sensors that detect time, location and frequency of movement and certain activities like going to the bathroom, bathing, opening the refrigerator, washing hands, and resting in bed or on the living room couch. The technology could potentially enable more people to stay in their home as they age, and might also be used to monitor patients with special needs or chronic conditions.
